« Do not throw your movies, » is the slogan of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), proclaimed in the Manifesto on the occasion of his 70th birthday. La Cinémathèque de Toulouse and the Institut Jean Vigo, both affiliated with the FIAF, fit into this spirit with their partnership around the cinematic memory regions of Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees and Aquitaine. It’s all about (re) find movies that individuals, companies and / or associations still have in their possession, often packed in damp basements or attics overheated in order to keep them in the best conditions. These films holders of images and history, should not be destroyed or ignored: they deserve to be shared with all the people of our region. Recovered movies are therefore a factor of the first order in the territorial development by images and the conservation of regional memory. This film heritage is quite proper to reflect the history of our country.
