[L'agriculture de montagne dans le Béarn dans les années 70]

In the 1970s, two conscientious objectors doing their two-year civilian service in an association for the defense of small farmers in the Pyrenees mountains, filmed the daily life they shared with them. Their film retraces the agricultural and mountain work and some moments of village life: the Béarnaise festival, the pig slaughter and the sheepshearing festival. The editing follows the rhythm of the seasons: a first summer to work the hay, autumn to shear the sheep and work the fern, winter to spread manure and cut firewood, spring for transhumance and finally a second summer for grazing and cheese making in the mountains.
