Oloron actualités : Procession de la fête dieu et Patronage Jeanne d'Arc
Oloron Newsreel: Corpus Christi Procession. In the first of the two still shots that make up the film, the procession meanders with great pomp through the sunny streets of Oloron Sainte-Marie, decorated with care. At the head of the procession, an armed man in uniform is surrounded by choir boys. The first section is composed mainly of children. According to custom, the parade is regularly interspersed with stops and prayers before the repositories, these temporary altars being placed along the route. Everyone stops and bows down towards the sacred host. A brass band of young men set the rhythm of the procession and the high authority of the clergy in the middle of the procession leads the monstrance under the shelter of his canopy. Just behind him march the villagers divided into two groups: first the men, then the women. The second shot, taken from ground level, shows the band passing by, whose members march proudly in their uniforms decorated with a star on their hearts.
