A Cizérolles : vendanges 1933

It is the grape harvest in Cizerolles. Winemakers –children, women and men– leave for the vineyards, baskets under their arms. We go directly to the closing of the Paillade, during which people who participated in the harvest meet again in a spirit of celebration and dance. The film then juxtaposes visits to various sharecropping lands or farms like Bel-Air, where we can see its people, the flock of geese, as well as a plowing scene with traditional animal traction ploughs followed by the return of the sharecroppers and oxen. Then, we go to the farm of L'Ormeau de Montauriol with its dairy herd and poultry in the barnyard. At the sharecropping farm of Lacaze, the harrow is used, the pumpkins are carried and we have the opportunity to admire beautiful specimens of pig. In Cizerolles, Mr. Tarbouriech rides a horse while friendly ducks come to eat from the hands of their owners. Finally a group of men sheltered in a barn has a picnic along the road in an excellent mood.
