Figeac
It is following the banks of the Cele, where women do their laundry, that we enter the city of Figeac to discover both the most outstanding locations (the Hotel de la Monnaie, Saint Sauveur church whose facade is being repaired...) and the most mundane (alleys, washhouse...). The film is composed primarily of street scenes, filmed all through the seasons (snow, heavy rain... ): women in the middle of an argument, children playing, an enormous flock of geese flying by... The kermesse of Joan of Arc School is a privileged opportunity for the bourgeoisie of Figeac to meet, dressed in all their finery, and share some pancakes and drinks in good spirits. The film ends in the solemnity of various liturgical celebrations, religious processions and other town festivals reflecting a strong anchoring of Catholic traditions.
