La Plage de Saint-Pierre
These are huts of canvas and other makeshift shelters on the seaside that form the landscape of this spa resort in Saint Pierre la Mer in the department of Aude. This film gives us the opportunity to discover not noly the beachwear of the 30s but different beach games and acrobatics by children. A group of men pose for a long time as a sports team for the camera. Keeping with their social role, men heckle women. A child plays with a small sailing boat. Swimming, with or without rubber ring, remains the main activity. A fight is staged and two boys play fighting. The architecture of this coastline is characterized by houses on stilts. Many groups of people settle on the beach for a picnic or just for some relax.
