La vie rurale dans un village des Pyrénées - Extrait
In the 50s a young doctor, Jean Seran, commited himself to shoot a film about the daily life in a village in the central Pyrenees, Fos. This village is located in the upper valley of the Garonne, right by the Spanish border. The images, shot in 9.5 millimetres, have become a valuable insight into the rural life of yesteryear, in a mountainous region, when the land was worked by hand and cows were still tethered. In the 80s, Jean Seran authorized the Cinémathèque de Toulouse to extract in 16 mm, with the support of the Region, a number of sequences and edit them with an ethnographic spirit. This is an excerpt depicting the shoeing of cows.
