Le Mariage des diables blancs

On May 22, 1954, in Toulouse, Berty Omankowsky and Roger Decugis, two renowned tightrope walkers belonging to the White Devils Company, exchange their wedding rings perched on a wire, several meters above a crowded Capitol Square. Father Robert Simon, nicknamed the Flying Priest for his exploits as a diver, blesses the couple from a fireman's ladder. Jean Dieuzaide, famous Toulouse photographer, immortalizes the event sitting on the shoulders of the bride's father, also balancing on a wire. His picture will go around the world.
